Slowly Shifting

Dress: Tobi {extra 40% off and 50% off your first purchase}/ Shoes: Zara /

Necklace: Herringstone’s (old) / Bracelet: Frock Candy (similar) / Sunnies: RayBan

With spring time right around the corner, I can’t help but be insanely excited about all of the bright colors coming out to play. Although Louisiana has had spring-like weather lately, you can’t help but feel wrong for wearing shorts and tank tops when it’s technically still wintertime! I kind of feel like I’ve put my boots on the back burner, which I hate. I guess I’m crazy considering I just bought this pair of booties from Forever 21. I mean, they were on sale for $19.99 and are identical to a Zara pair. Do you blame me? I sure hope not.

Besides color, I’ve seriously been into shift dresses more than ever lately. I have an athletic build {which means I have thighs and a butt} and most dresses accentuate that a little too much for my taste. When I got my first shift dress {seen here}, I couldn’t believe how much I loved it. I was also incredibly blown away by how much my husband loved it and even kept telling me “hey, wear that chevron dress you got!”  That sort of statement will be enough to make any girl buy one in every color and of every design ever made. There’s just something about it. It’s comfortable, flowy without being overwhelming and making you look heavy, and short enough to still feel sexy.

I’d wear a dress every single day if I could. There really is nothing like wearing a dress and it’s always the ultimate pick-me-up. Well, that and red lipstick but that’s a whole other discussion.

What’s your favorite type of dress?

I was just thinking today that I need more shift dresses – and dresses in general for summer. They can be easily dressed up or down! Love this bright blue one!

  2. Love this outfit from the dress to the shoes! I definitely am looking to add some shift dresses into my spring wardrobe.

  3. Shift dresses are always a good idea in my book. While I personally don’t feel comfortable wearing them yet (that will be changing over the next few months though!), I think they are generally universally flattering on most figures. Hey, if you belt them and throw on a cute pair of booties/boots/heels, you’re set to go! I love this shift dress on you and the cobalt blue color is gorgeous! :)
